Obama’s New Black Panther Party

July 19, 2010

Many Americans are not at all aware of what is possibly the most textbook case of voter intimidation which could ever take place in this day and age. In 2008, an amateur cameraman captured footage of two Black Panthers stationed outside a Philadelphia, PA polling station. As you can see in the YouTube video linked, the men were dressed in paramilitary dress and carried billy clubs.

J. Christian Adams, a former DOJ official who quit the department over the issue of the voter intimidation case, has testified before the Civil Rights Commission that Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder has ordered the Department of Justice to cease its pursuit of cases against black defendants.

Obama and his regime, like all people on the Left, claim to be tolerant. We heard it in the incessant campaign rhetoric that his administration would “reach across the aisle” and unite all Americans under one banner. Obama and his supporters, especially in the Black Panther party, are only tolerant of the people and ideas of which they approve.

Obama and Eric Holder have now given the Black Panthers carte blanche to intimidate voters with billy clubs.

This is your Hope and Change, America. Enjoy your freedom to vote while it lasts, because by 2012 you won’t even recognize your country anymore.

Salt: The latest in crimes against the state

April 13, 2010

Early last month, the New York state legislature introduced a bill to make it a crime for chefs to add salt to food prepared for consumption by customers. This bill would impose criminal penalties (fines of $1,000) for every infraction.

It’s impossible to overestimate how quickly this would damage New York City’s food and hospitality industry. Imagine how many foods that get served in restaurants that depend on salt–you can’t even make chocolate chip cookies without salt! Now imagine a city that was once the center of the American restaurant industry, where nobody wants to go to restaurants because their food suddenly tastes like crap. Proponents of the nanny state have made this one so easy that I almost don’t even want to say any more about it. It speaks for itself.

A group of restaurant chefs and irate consumers started a website called MyFoodMyChoice.org, as well as a corresponding group on Facebook. I don’t live in New York state, but if I did I would sign the petition there and get vocal. Keep government out of our freedom fries!

Rooting for China

December 19, 2009

This is the last time you will ever hear me taking the side of a communist country. This time however, it’s clear that China is the only country in the world that is being smart about Copenhagen and climate change.

As the Copenhagen climate farce continues, China is the only thing standing in the way of a major agreement. The other countries know about it, and they’re getting desperate, especially Barack Obama. You see, China (unlike the rest of the developed world) realizes that climate change regulation such as the Kyoto Protocol and Cap & Tax does nothing for the environment but irreparably damages the economy of every country or jurisdiction that signs onto it. This is why the signatories of Kyoto have failed to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by any noteworthy degree, yet have experienced declines or drops in economic growth since the signing. The United States has managed to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and has experienced economic growth which has outpaced the signatories of Kyoto.

Why is it that the fascists in China realize that costly and worthless climate regulation is not worth gutting an entire economy? Maybe Obama will realize this when China and India start to outcompete us. Only when Hope & Change lead us deeper into economic depression will Americans and the rest of the world wake up to the disaster that is global environmental regulation.

Snowstorm AlGore and the Copenhagen disaster

December 12, 2009

The midwest and Texas are experiencing winter weather as bad as it gets, yet the world’s pseudo-scientists and super-socialists are meeting right now in Copenhagen to determine how best to prevent us from driving cars, heating our homes and eating meat. Luckily, they have their 1,200 limousines and 140 private jets on standby in case the weather gets too cold for them to handle.

With Copenhagen ignoring Climategate and Congress set to pass an historic erosion of our right to choose our own healthcare, the only thing in danger of burning up this Christmas season is our freedom.

flag@whitehouse.gov: Making a list and checking it twice

August 8, 2009

Barry and his henchwoman Pelosi are a little concerned about their healthcare reform proposal. They can’t understand why Americans are so passionately against government-run-and-rationed healthcare. And when they see videos like this, they realize they have to send in union thugs to beat up people who gather to speak their voice about this abomination.

Since the Democrats are obviously smarter than everyone else in America, there has to be some other reason why people aren’t blindly following what our wise elected leaders are telling us. It has to be people spreading “lies” and “misinformation” about healthcare reform!

To get to the bottom of the “lies” and “misinformation” (i.e. any form of speech or debate that conflicts with the Administration’s stance), the White House wrote a blog post on Thursday asking citizens to help them out:

“There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care.  These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation.  Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”

So this is what “Hope” and “Change” have come to now: reporting dissenters to the President so he can make a list of people who disagree with him. Who knows what will happen to flag@whitehouse.gov…perhaps they’ll get rid of it (though apparently they can’t, since they can’t delete emails sent to the White House), or they’ll keep it and compile their list and make it as clear to everyone else as it is to me that this is an authoritarian administration which is as caustic to freedom and liberty as it gets.

If anyone would like to report my blog to flag@whitehouse.gov, I will gladly be a martyr for the cause if it means delaying our enslavement by the welfare state a little bit longer.

Self-reliance: “Not dead yet”

August 4, 2009

I came across this article on the New York Times’ website about how people in urban and suburban areas alike are starting to raise their own chickens.

As a backyard chicken trend sweeps the country, hatcheries that supply baby chicks say they can barely keep up with demand. Do-it-yourself coops have popped up in places as disparate as Brooklyn, suburban Chicago and the rural West. But for many others, a deep current of economic distress underlies the chicken boomlet, as people seek ways to fend for themselves in tough times. Even if spreadsheets can demonstrate that raising chickens at home is not cost-effective, it may instill an invaluable sense of self-reliance.

— New York Times, “Keeping Their Eggs in Their Backyard Nests,” 8-4-2009

The article admits that it is cheaper to buy eggs and meat at a grocery store than it is to raise chickens oneself. But that just shows that people aren’t so much motivated to raise their own chickens just to save money. They enjoy the idea of having more control over their food supply and not  subjecting themselves to supermarket prices. And in an economy where food prices are unstable, why be dependent when you can do-it-yourself? It’s also cool to see people selling eggs and meat to their neighbors and communities…a little free market going on at the local level.

Because of the costs of doing it yourself, it may not be the most strategic or economic option, but I’m sure it’s more rewarding in the end. And that’s more important–that people be able to see the rewards and benefits of free and voluntary exchange in their personal experience…before Obama nationalizes the poultry industry.
